2010 Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta

The 2010 Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta concluded on Sat 8th May in front over 30,000 spectators on the Schuylkill River

Conditions were blustery and there was a strong current but the crew from Brock University in Ontario managed to capture the Richard O’Brien trophy as Dad Vail’s men’s varsity heavyweight eight champion. Brock beat second-place Delaware and third-place Florida Tech by open water with a time of 6:28.35 to become the first Canadian school to ever claim the Dad Vail title. Brock entered the Regatta as the 12th-seeded boat.

Cal-Sacramento powered its way to the women’s varsity eight championship in 7:02.52 to beat Saint Joseph’s and Drexel for the Evelyn Bergman trophy.

Saint Joseph’s won the overall points trophy by capturing a medal in all seven grand final races that featured a boat from the Hawks. Saint Joseph’s won one gold medal, two silvers and four bronze.
