Martin Laird

Rise to Success

The 29 year-old from Glasgow, Scotland claimed his first PGA TOUR victory at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in 2009. This victory secured his place on the TOUR in 2011, where he later claimed the biggest title of his career at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard. This victory also marked the first-ever European winner at this Invitational.

Laird has improved his money list position every year on the PGA TOUR since his rookie season in 2008. This past season he finished 23rd on the PGA TOUR Money List, and Martin is currently ranked 33rd in the Official World Golf Rankings.

After turning professional in 2004, Martin has continued to show incredible determination to succeed in the professional game and most recently accepted an affiliate membership to the European Tour to try to qualify for the 2012 Ryder Cup taking place at Medinah GC in Chicago, IL.

Most recently, Laird reached the quarter-finals of the World Golf Championship Tournament in Arizona and in January he finished second at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at the Kapalua Resort's Plantation Course, Hawaii.

Martin’s second PGA Tour title came in April 2013 when he won the Texas Open and secured the final qualifying spot in The Masters at Augusta National. A thrilling final day produced a course record nine-under score of 63, ensured victory over Rory McIlroy and broke a winning streak by Americans on the PGA Tour since October 2012.

The thrilling win in Texas gave Martin his third consecutive appearance at The Masters.
